If I'm looking for a hotel or apartment, I will be given many options at many prices. Almost all such sites are database driven with extensive search facilities. They have to be easily updated very quickly.

I will have a lot of information to look at and I will want to scan it quickly so as not to waste my time.

This does not sound like a job for Flash. Flash is for animation and I don't see what animation would achieve other than to slow-down the search for information.

I think a Quicktime VR walkthrough might be more appropriate if you are trying to sell expensive luxury accomodation. can create a virtual tour
can make a spiffy slideshow
can make it very visually appealing

Flash minuses (a few of 'em anyway)
usually larger bandwidth
requires the plug-in
more difficult to work with and update than static images
less accessible
harder to drive with a database
not particularly printer-friendly

If what you want to do needs to be done in Flash, then use it. If not, then don't.

In all honesty, if you're asking the question at all, then I would suspect you have a limited understanding of Flash and what it can and can't do, so I would say definitely DON'T use it. In my option 100% Macromedia Flash based web sites (I am limiting this commentary to websites) should be limited only to web sites whos primary goal is to envoke emotion in visitors as opposed to provide information.

For example:
1) Eye-candy web sites: http://www.turtleshell.com/
2) Portfolio websites
3) Mickey Mouse club type sites for events or programs.

Macromedia Flash INTROs for web sites that have the goal of distributing information are hell spawn and should be avoided entirely. These abombinations inhibit the user from accessing the information they want and are counter-productive to the web sites goals.

Macromedia Flash "pieces": web banners, or logo animations however, can be used pretty often with out being over-done and sucky.

There are way too many "flash designers" out there that make good flash designers look bad.

jeromedelamerced -- Remeber that not everyone in the world has broadband, and so a site that loads quickly & presents vital information immediately will be much more useful than a site that takes a long time to load.
