I'm struggling with Adobe Indesign - how to add tables into a frame. The table menu just doesn't work, in fact in never really seems to work. What am I doing wrong?

You are using InDesign for web pages? InDesign is for print layouts.

Actually not. I'm using it for designing a newspaper but I thought maybe someone here can help.

Hi Lauri,

First, Adobe has a great InDesign forum on it's site. Great place for your question.

Second, it's hard to know what you want to do. Place a Word doc with a table in it, and it automatically becomes an InDesign table. To change text into a table in InDesign, select the text with the text tool, then go to Table>Convert text to table... and select that. Your text becomes a table that way, and then the other commands can be used.

Once you have a table, you use only the text tool, both for selecting rows and columns and for text editing. It's a little confusing at first.

Hope this helps...
