Do you know if it is possible to put links on a background image?

Take a look at this page: http://www.friendlycottons.com/

On the upper right side you will see two menu bars and in between them an image that is set as background-image.

I would like to map that image and put a different link to each icon.

Is that possible?

The image is set as background because on the front is the drop-down menu.

OR, just slice up the background image, put it back together on the page in one layer, and put layer the dropdown on top of it.
