Layout: <div> and position

Hi,
i am quiet new to Style the Page with CSS.
I read many Articels about it. None of them could answer my question: Why using position: relative;
When i just use <div> Tags, its easier to position them with position: absolute;
Is there a Case, where relative position is better?

In almost every case, relative is better. Absolute position makes a page solid and inflexible.
Trees that bend with the wind do not break.
