Hey guys. I just found this forum after reading a little on absolute and relative positioning, and I must say, this has gotten me into a pickle. Here is my situation: I'm doing a band website for a school project that is due this Monday. You fail the class if you fail the project, so I would like to get this done today if possible. There are two files I am currently working with: index.html and afistyles.css.

The index.html file is located here:
http://www.ekornmeyer.com/fwd/index.html

The afistyles.css file is located here:
http://www.ekornmeyer.com/fwd/afistyles.css

And here inlies the problem. My layout will not appear centered on monitors greater than 17" (which is my own monitor size). I have had a friend with a 19" look at it and a friend with a 21" look at it, and while my layout was centered, it appeared on the topright of their browsers.

I basically have a div with the id of container around all of my other divs that has a relative position. All the other divs have a absolute position. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, please help! If you want to contact me personally, my AIM is Cyric99. Thanks!

EDIT: I'm viewing it in Firefox at 1024x768 res.

Ok, I took out the 'container' div and put that code in the 'mainshell' div and it is centered on mine now. Now I just need someone with a big monitor to check it out. No one is awake yet though. Hopefully this works! Thanks for the response.

Hmm.. I started resizing my browser window and now all of the content stayed there except the 'mainshell'. Should I now put back the 'containter' div and set that to relative?

EDIT: Eh, that didn't work. Should I just go on and hope the user doesn't change the browser size? That shouldn't be a problem, I don't think.. most of the computers at my school have over 20" monitors.

Ok, I just had my friend with the big monitor look at it, and it still is not aligned properly for him. The very back box, that holds all the 'content' is centered for him, but all of the content (news, mailing, events, etc) are out to the left a little. But it looks perfectly for me. I only have less than one day to fix this, pleaseee help.
