I am designing a new site and created a layer (AP div) to drop a menu script in and lined it with the right side of the JPG background image and looks correct on this machine and browser, but when I view the same page on another computer and monitor, the menu has shifted way over to the right.

I would post a pic but no way to do that here...

Any ideas WHY and how to fix ?

It might be the change of screen resolution and you could open in IE browser.

its is because of pixles of image,try to use small pixels
or it may be screen resolution.

How do go about shortening it? Do I just change the format of my permalinks or is there a better/easier way?
