Can anyone tell me why standard web fonts eg Georgia and Verdana look very clean and crisp in MS Word but very poor by contrast in IE in web pages designed by me on the same computer?
Is there any way of getting the same quality for the web page font as I get in MS Word?

Do you have font smoothing switched on in IE preferences? It's pretty awful anti-aliasing but better than nothing.

Thanks. I did not have font smoothing switched on.
Font smoothing has improved the look of my web sites but not as much as I had hoped.
