I would like to set up a discussion board on a site that I manage. Is this difficult to do? Is there something available that makes this easier for a non-programmer like me?
I am in the process of converting from FrontPage to Dreamweaver software.
Thanks so much for your assistance. I love this website!

This board is an open source product called YaBB
http://www.yabbforum.com/
Installing it will be your main problem but they will do it for you for a small fee if you don't want to tackle it. Thereafter, it's quite easy. All the controls are done on administrative web pages. Once you get it configured to your liking, it more or less runs itself.

phpbb is also a nice, full-featured, open source BB software. Very powerful, and very easy to set up. Personally, I prefer it to YABB, but that's really a personal preference, and I'm not saying one is superior to the other.
What I'd personally like to see is a standards-compliant, fully CSS-based BB that actually has good code. But that's another rant for another day.

Yes, there's a lot of very poor HTML in most board software. I like the look of phpbb too but php is not supported by this ISP and I'm more at home with perl anyway. I chose YaBB on the promise that version 2 would be 100% standards compliant - unfortunately, it's not happening as quickly as I would have liked. Can't complain at the price though!

Funny... I've never been able to wrap my brain around perl, but php is relatively easy for me. I see phpbb and yabb as being pretty comparable, adn one's not necessarily better than the other.
