Hello guys, 
Does anybody know any good sites so I can submit my website to. Something like DesignFirms for example? I have a list of some I would like to share with you before you provide me with your answers.

The number 1 site to list your site is on DMOZ. They are used by all the major search engines.

Hello Spyros,
Try webdirectories first like www.24.sis or www.vistadex.com or even www.w3-directory.com. They're SEO friendly sites.

The best way to increase your SEO is to :
1. Produce semantically correct HTML
2. Have many others that link to your website
These are the two most important elements to increasing your web presense.
Make sure you get your site listed at DMOZ.org.

it's hard to optimize flash site for SEO. Try to add more content on home page ... and of course H1 tag.

Hello folks. I have been in the web design business for a couple of years now. I got my start by oping a branch office for a friend of mine that had a company in Houston, texas. His company was Global SEO Inc doing business as SEO Houston I opened an office in Dallas with the DBA of Dallas Website Design He passed away in October of 2006, and I have operated Dallas Web Design since.
Please take a look at any of our sites by clicking on the links and let me know what you think. I just redesigned each of the sites and am very interested in feedback from others in the business.
the Dallas Website Design> site was designed to be 100% W3C complaint for XHTML 1.0 Strict. The other sites are HTML 4.0 Transitional compliant.

Anything that requires a return link should be ignored. I noticed on your home page that there where a bunch of links to web design directories, I used to link to the same ones, when I removed their links I noticed my SERP's got higher, Google seems to frown upon directories that require a reciprocal link

Thank you Rob. I have removed the links to everything but our inner pages and the Stanford University reference.
I sort of inherited the website from a freind who passed away that I had been working with. He originally created the website 5 years ago, and while I redesigned the site, I had left most of his text intact.
I had not even thought about the reciprocal linking when I remade the site

Agreed, unfortunately these days it's very hard to get one-way links.
The big directories like DMOZ are probably your best bet.

designhide.com" based on this exact idea... however if you check it I think you will find it much more in depth and extensive then the rest!
the focus is on visual representation, so every designer gets their own custom profile and controls whats in their portfolio.

My advice is to be careful with submitting to all kinds of websites. You can now be penalized for having links at the wrong websites.

Please help me out there, how to rejuvenate web rank, and why Google done this.
