Putting a Website together, created a navigation bar with Flash, I it in a floating layer to fit with the table ihave beneath it. I've got the table to center align itself with the browser. Is there a way to make the layer center align in the browser as well?

Yes, set the right and left margins of the div to auto and set the body to text-align: center. You than have to watch out for inheritance in IE 6 and make sure that everything inside the page is explicity aligned.

I'm working in Dreamweaver, It wont allow me to set the text align center, b/c it is a .swf file in the layer.
the only way ive been able to center  it with the browser is to create in in layout view as opposed to standard view... but that way im not able to overlap a table on top of it.

If you put a Flash movie inside a div, you can place it anywhere on the screen you like but you can't place *anything* over a Flash movie no matter what you do, it is always at the front.

I know i cant place anything over a flash movie, what im trying to do, is overlap the body of the webpage with the flash menu bar, and working in standard mode, i can get the body to float with the browser but the flash movie remains still

Have you checked in multiple browsers? Remember, unless you outsmart the system (which is a different topic) Flash needs both object and embed tags... and you'll need to style accordingly.

I'm re-designing a site for an intranet, so 99% of the time it will only be accessed through IE
I just want to avoid having the entire site stuck to the left side of the browser b/c i cant figure out how to make the flash menu bar slide with the table beneath it. It's just a floating layer placed above the table. Im begining to think there are no setting to have it move with the size of the browser, otherwise the layer will probly go everywhere.

This question has already been answered (above). Divs go where you put them! Whatever is inside them goes there too.

They are inside a div, and they are put where i want them, but they wont move with the browser. I've been looking up a bunch of code and from what i can tell ... i need to put absolute values in, in addition to other info but i cant figure where to put it

Have a look at the banner ad at the top of the WPDFD home page. The Directory ad is done in Flash and moves with the page. It is absolutley positioned inside a containing div that is relatively positioned to centre on the page. You might have to press 'reload' a few times to see the Flash banner.

See here for information about putting absolute inside relative divs
