Does anyone know of a good resource for information on how to optimize a site for search engines that's using DHTML to create pages on the fly?

Am working with someone using WebData Pro (a PERL and MySQL package for web publishing/relational databases). Some of the pages created have a lot of javascript in the headers and other places, and well-formed documents aren't always generated. Am afraid the site won't get good rankings with search engines.

As the site's designer (of the CSS and html page templates used) I want to do what I can, but have little or no control over the back end of the WebData package -- any input greatly appreciated --
