Hey Guys,
Sometimes, when I click on a topic to look at it, I get this long pause from my computer. Then some error message about an Adobe Script running slowly and would I like to abort it. Clicking OK tends to remove the problem but it sure is a hassle and always worrying that there might be some virus trying to get in.
Every time it happens, the text displayed by the little info bar at the bottom of the window.
Thanks

Hi Gotham,
Even I encounter such problems but the reason being is flash makes whole website heavy to load on your browser and we humans being highly impatient start clicking every link that comes to our vision. And this hung our system.
Though flash increases the interactivity of the website and increases the involvement of the visitor but at the same time it also have many repercussions. One of them is hat we just discussed and other one and the important one is no SEO.
Thanks,

You should consider using flash headers and making the rest of the pages html that way you still have the flash you want and your pages can perform better.

Flash will be more useful when it is more widely used, and more tightly integrated with browsers. It will seriously reduce page loads and overall use of bandwidth. It will improve feedback mechanisms. It will be used to give users more control through familiar direct manipulation methods (imagine letting people drag and drop on the web, finally). However, these things will have to wait until the web as a whole is ready for Flash only.

As far as my concern flash header never help a web site in SEO. It works in reverse. And the problem the author of the post faced is genral. I also faced many times.

hi everyone,
i have some problem
Web Analytic systems help marketing professionals evaluate website visitor behavior in and around a website, providing actionable information valuable in improving a website’s business performance.
Basic Web Analytic reporting tells marketers where their visitors came from, the pages visited and where in a site visitors abandon a site. One type of web Analytic reporting uses web server based data – log files which track every page, image and download served to site visitors. A second type of reporting system relies on JavaScript tags that need to be inserted in every site page and on every download able object. While both types of web Analytic systems have advantages and disadvantages, Flash based websites present real problems for both types of Web Analytic reporting tools.

Also flash websites are difficult for search engines to crawl, and that can be translated into lower rank and traffic.

Same thing I've noticed. Flash affects SEO. It takes a lot of time for a site to load. Makes me want to look for another site instead whenever I encounter such site.

I agree, I don't have the best computer, so generally every flash website I go to seems to slow it down. Sometimes it doesn't even load, perhaps I need to upgrade the flash player I am currently using.

Flash sites might look great, but they start to fall apart when visitors try to use them. Consider a site for a professional services company. The site contains information about the company, its services, case studies and contact information. It is clear that the company invested a lot of time in planning and developing their web site. The site deserves an excellent rating for content and appearance.

Hello,
I know this is an old post; however I would still like to add my point of view.
Flash has several popular plugins/libraries that are written poorly and if execute those libraries in controled environment cause memory leaks. I've seen some code that was calling one of those functions in a loop.
If that happens, your browser while trying to execute the program will hang.
Other times I've seen flash that was corrupted (maybe due to decompilation), cause website to hang.
Other times I've seen flash trying to load external configuration file and the file does not exist.
If you shared a url, I could look into that for you and maybe give you better response.

It was very common to create website with Adobe Flash and it was convenient then as the website did not require to carry a lot of data and other information. But as time passed, the websites have become heavier carrying a lot of data and information. They are required to also process a more sophisticated traffic from and to the website. These problems put the flash away as more sophisticated websites have arrived in the market.

I also had similar kinds of issues with my system, but I thought this is because of the antivirus installed. I never knew the flash sites are the reason. I think my adobe reader is not upgraded; I will upgrade it and see how it is working.

Flash content does not rank as well as HTML content. The main problem search engines have with flash content is determining how will its contents appear in a browser. With flash, its more difficult for search engines to detect it because the content may be hidden.

I am trying to diversify my blogs on different host providers but as I am sure most of you know using a ton of different providers can be costly. Currently I have set up a few $1 hosting accounts at
cbahosting.com
bizzyshark.com
1dollarhosting.com
hostica.com
to just name a few. But I have more than 100 sites and was researching that to minimize footprints I should keep the domains to a bare minimum of 3-5 websites per hosting account an IP. So I am looking to see if you guys have a huge list of different hosting services where I can get cheap hosting as you can see with 100 sites I need about 30 different hosting accounts, unless someone here has any other ideas.
